“Ser ‘não-binárie’ e ‘sem pátria’ é entender-se primeiramente como PESSOA, livre de ser, de transitar e de lidar com o seu corpo. É entender que somos todes influenciades por infinitas vivências, culturas, relações, crenças, percepções e outras coisas que, aliás, não precisam constar numa carteira de identidade. É entender também que todas as categorias onde a sociedade tenta nos encaixar desde o dia em que a gente nasceu – como categorias de gênero ou de cidadania – são bastante arbitrárias e fontes infinitas de ‘pré-conceitos’ no sentido de conceitos predefinidos e associados a uma pessoa antes mesmo de se saber quem ela é.
Como se o fato de ser mulher ou ser de tal país significasse que você tem que se comportar assim ou assado.
Mas nem todas as mulheres são iguais, nem todas as pessoas que nasceram num mesmo lugar levam a vida do mesmo jeito.
No entanto, essas categorias (infelizmente) existem, sim, na sociedade, e por isso, falar em não-binarismo não vai contra o feminismo, por exemplo. No meu caso, me vejo sempre tratada como uma ‘mulher-de-tal-país’ (com toda a carga de ideias feitas que isso traz), embora quase ninguém na vida tenha me perguntado se eu me sentia mesmo representade por esses conceitos que querem encaixar toda a humanidade em (apenas!) dois grupos, ou definir o seu caráter apenas pelo passaporte. Por mim, o desafio é falar em PESSOAS – únicas, diferentes – e defender a igualdade de direitos entre todes.”

No Brasil, começou a atuar com diversas mídias independentes, como o Coletivo Catarse, a Agência de Notícias das Favelas e Fotoguerrilha, produzindo vídeos, fotos, textos e reportagens de campo. Integrante da Agência Livre para Informação, Cidadania e Educação (ALICE), responsável pela edição, diagramação e sustento do Boca de Rua, o primeiro longa-metragem de Charlotte foi justamente sobre o jornal produzido por moradores de rua. O documentário se chama “De olhos abertos” e teve a pré-estreia durante o 1º CIndie Festival, que exibe filmes brasileiros, independentes e que não tenham sido explorados pelo circuito comercial de exibição no Brasil. Em 2020, lançou o livro Como Num Romance, seleção de crônicas, poemas e desenhos seus.
